About the role

Practice-based Social Workers

Working alongside dedicated community nurses, the Henderson practice-based Social Worker's role is to identify vulnerable families, provide comprehensive assessment in the areas of health, education, social and financial family challenges and creatively facilitate access to relevant services that will improve health and wellbeing outcomes. Social worker registration is required for this position.

Family Start

Our Family Start Worker Social Workers through home visits support families who are struggling with challenges or problems that put at risk good health, education and social outcomes for their children. Social worker registration is required for this position. Based in Henderson and North Shore.

Whānau Ora

The Whānau Ora model is proven to have highly effective outcomes for families. The Whānau Ora Navigator supports Pacific families to develop their own solutions in order to meet their future aspirations using the Whānau Ora framework. While social worker registration is preferred, if you are at least a Category 3 – Level 4 Health Certificate graduate you can apply for a Whānau Ora Navigator role with us).

Based at Henderson and Manurewa.

About you

The ideal applicant will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Values whānau relationships, reliability, respect, and integrity.
  • Has an excellent understanding and appreciation of Pacific cultures/values/protocols.
  • Knows how to access social services across Auckland.
  • Is open to working with whole families e.g., can work with different age groups across a family.
  • Is passionate about working with Pacific families and making a difference.
  • Has initiative and innovative thinking.
  • Is computer literate.
  • Has a full New Zealand Drivers Licence.
  • Has New Zealand Permanent Residency or New Zealand Citizenship.
